The East Brunswick Community Housing Corporation (EBCHC) is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to provide affordable housing for low- and very low-income households who would otherwise not be able to secure decent housing in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
All of the 69 units owned and managed by EBCHC assist the Township in meeting its affordable housing obligation.
Funding
The EBCHC's operating expenses are covered by rental revenue. No Township funds are spent to maintain EBCHC properties.
Funding sources include the Middlesex County Home Partnership Program and the East Brunswick Development Fee Trust Fund. Additional funding sources will continue to be pursued.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for this program, applicants must earn between 35% to 50% of regional median income to be eligible, as set by the Affordable Housing Professionals of New Jersey for the year. All household income is considered, including government benefits, alimony, and child support.
