The COVID Alert NJ app complements our traditional contact tracing efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19. It will help us fill the gap of folks that aren’t comfortable sharing contacts on the phone and help us reach contact we might not normally reach through traditional contact tracers such as fellow residents at a restaurant, on the bus/train, or waiting in line at the grocery store for whom you wouldn’t know to reach in the event of an exposure. Last week, Governor Murphy issued a joint press release with our colleagues in NY who also launched their COVID Alert NY app. Additionally, our colleagues in Pennsylvania and Delaware launched their COVID Alert apps in the last 3 weeks and Connecticut is planning to launch in the near future so we’ll also benefit from the interoperability between states since we’ve all used the same platform.
The COVID Alert NJ team have put together a comprehensive FAQ Section covid19.nj.gov/app to answer any questions that may arise regarding the application.
If you have questions or would like to offer feedback, please email COVIDapp@doh.nj.gov to reach the COVID Alert NJ team.
