2021 Day Camp Registration Ends June 18, 2021 - Online Only
What’s old is new again!
When Day Camps first started in East Brunswick over 60 years ago, all of the camps were drop off programs in the Parks in town. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Day Camps in 2021 will be going OLD SCHOOL!
Camps will be 100% outdoors in 1 of our Township parks, broken down by grade. Since it gets hot in the summer, the length of the Full Day camp will be shortened from previous camp seasons. However, since we know parents are heading back to work, a modified version of before and after care is available.
Additionally, to accommodate as many campers as possible during the summer, we are breaking each camp into 3, two-week sessions. Parents will have the option to sign their child up for 1, 2 or all 3 sessions. This gives the option of only signing up for the weeks you wish to attend!
While the Day Camp program has been known for day trips around the area, this summer there will be no trips. All activities will take place in the Park. There will be some days each session where campers will be dropped off and picked up at Crystal Springs, so there will still be some water fun & activities!
We are also offering a lot of Sport & STEM half day programs throughout the summer. These week-long camps will give those campers with specific interests the opportunity to focus on those under the guidance of High School coaches and/or experts!
We know this summer is going to be unlike any other recent summer, but it’s still going to be 100% fun! Please review the Safety and Operating Guidelines found further in this brochure. If you have questions after
Introducing the EB Day Camp
Camper Support Program
This summer we are introducing the Camper Support Program (CSP). CSP is designed to make the EB Day Camp experience accessible to campers who will benefit from some additional support and supervision, to have a successful day camp experience in a mainstream setting.
CSP participants will be fully integrated into camp groups and participate along with their peers in all camp activities. An additional staff member, who has been trained to provide appropriate support, will accompany CSP campers with their group daily, enabling the CSP camper full access to all the activities in a safe and supervised manner. The CSP staff member will supervise, assist and coach the CSP camper in social skills, behavioral modifications and communication skills as they have fun with their peers.
This program is specifically designed to open up the camp experience to campers who would otherwise be hesitant to participate in a mainstream program. All CSP campers will participate in a pre-camp Meet and Greet session.
Philosophy & Objective
For over 60 years, the Township of East Brunswick has been providing children with a positive, stimulating and happy summer day camp experience where they create wonderful memories and lasting friendships. We are focused on making summer a fun-filled experience for your child to cherish for a lifetime!
Variety of Experiences
The Department of Recreation and Park’s Day Camp Program is a co-ed camp serving children in 1st through 8th grade. The camp provides a variety of experiences that support social and physical growth in a positive environment in which children have the opportunity to explore, play, learn from adult role models, develop self confidence, use their imagination, and create new friendships.
Activities Stimulate Growth
The program stimulates exploration and adventure through individual and group activities while developing insight into cooperation and decision making. Amazing activities, arts & crafts, swimming, games and sports promote an exhilarating summer for each camper.
Nurturing Your Child
Our camp is where a camper’s personal, emotional, and physical needs are nurtured by staff that has a great love of children. This camp will give you the peace of mind that your child is in a caring environment this summer.
American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation
The East Brunswick Day Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) which recognizes camps for providing quality programming with the health and safety of campers and staff in the forefront. Standards established by ACA provide guidelines for policies, procedures, and practices, as well as education and evaluation to ensure the ongoing challenging and nurturing aspects of the program.
The Department of Recreation and Community Services undergoes a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation - from staff qualifications and training to emergency management.
East Brunswick Day Camp is one of the few ACA accredited municipal camps in the country and the only one in our region.
American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at the camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes summers of growth and fun in an environment committed to safety.
