The East Brunswick Police Department participates in a variety of College/University Student Internship Programs. College age students are eligible to apply generally in their Junior or Senior years of study. These students must be currently enrolled in a program related to Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice and are required to submit their Internship Program acceptance for their prospective college/university upon submission of their application. Students simply interested in law enforcement experience will not be accepted without enrollment into a sanctioned program.
The program consists of a 120 hours minimum (adjusted to college/university requirements) encompassing:
- Community policing
- Includes a ride-along component
- The judicial process
- Patrol operations
- Traffic safety
All applications must be submitted in person to the East Brunswick Police Department Internship Coordinator in the Community Policing Unit. Internship positions are limited and controlled by the Internship Coordinator each semester. For additional information, email the Community Policing Unit or call at 732-390-6938.
