Community Policing

The Community Policing Unit acts as the East Brunswick Police Departments liaison to various public and private groups, as well as providing numerous crime prevention awareness and community programs to the residents, business community, and visitors to East Brunswick.

The Community Policing Unit works closely with the Senior Center, local banks, local pharmacies, as well as the Department of Aging with any police related concerns. Throughout the year, Community Policing officers attended monthly meetings and cultural events sponsored by the Human Relations Council including participation in the East Brunswick Alliance for Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse meetings and events.

Some of the programs and services offered by the Community Policing Unit include:

  • Free home and business security inspections
  • Coordination of the various East Brunswick Neighborhood Watch Programs
  • Coordination of the East Brunswick Community Day celebration
  • Conducting free lectures on various crime prevention and safety topics (ranging from "Child Safety" to "Crimes Targeting the Elderly")
  • Coordinating the "Junior Police Academy"

The Community Policing Unit is available for presentations on nearly every crime prevention and safety topic.
