The East Brunswick High School was closed for Tuesday, November 13, 2007 due to an internet based threat of violence. The exact nature of the threat and the web site utilized is not being released at this time due to the fact that the investigation is ongoing. Police received tips from several unidentified individuals who observed the web postings and reported the incident on Monday, November 12, 2007. After consulting with the Police Department, the Board of Education made the determination to close the High School today to allow personnel to ensure the safety of the school. Police presence on school grounds has been increased and all precautions are being taken to ensure that all students are safe when they return to classes. Classes are expected to resume Wednesday morning, November 14, 2007. More specific information can not be released at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
