|
In July 2002 the DWI Enforcement Team was established to lead the departments efforts in combating the presence of drunk drivers on the roadways of East Brunswick. Three officers devoted solely to this goal patrol during the evening and early morning hours concentrating on the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers. During the first ten months of 2003, the DWI Enforcement Team has arrested over 325 people for Driving While Intoxicated as well as a variety of criminal offenses. There is no doubt the efforts of the unit have assisted the department in making East Brunswick Township a safer place to travel.
