Tax Sale Notice

OVERVIEW | WATER RATES | FORMS

OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Collector of Revenue, the Tax and Water Division renders tax and water bills, receives and collects taxes and water payments, certifies tax searches, conducts tax sales on delinquent properties and assignment of liens, handles judgments rendered by County and State, makes corrected bills for both tax and water customers, keeps records up to date on mortgage company changes and changes of owners in the water division, submits monthly financial reports to the Director of Finance, submits listing of refund to accounts payable when overpayments occur.

In addition to the above, this office also is responsible for the licensing of all dogs and cats in East Brunswick, as well as, keeping track of all food establishments who need their licenses renewed each year. Supplies hydrant meters to contractors, landscaping businesses in connection with new construction.

Tax payments are due quarterly: February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1, with a ten day grace period, as long as the tax payments are in the tax office on the 10th of the quarter due, there will be no penalty. Postmarks are not honored.

The water division sets up the final water readings, with payment due from the homeowner at time the final is taken. Demolition permits are approved by the Tax Collector, after all approvals have been made by the Construction Department and after any outstanding water and taxes have been paid. Senior citizen PD 5 form concerns are the responsibility of the tax office. Water bills may be paid by bank draft, after the initial form has been rendered to the water division.
