HEALTH RELATED SERVICES:
- Blood pressure check every Monday from
10:00 am to 12:00pm Please walk in no charge.
- Podiatrist is scheduled at the Center on
a monthly basis.
- Exercise classes are held daily. Check the
calendar in the newsletter for days and times.
- Health screenings are provided. Watch for announcements in the newsletter.
- VNA nurse Practioner available monthly for private consultations no charge. Please see the newsletter.
PERSONAL SERVICES: (for appointments
call 390-6896)
- Men's haircuts are every Monday starting at 12 pm. No appointment is necessary. There is a charge.
- Women's haircuts are every Wednesday from
11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please call in advance for an appointment.
There is other a charge.
- Manicures are every Monday from 12:00 pm
to 2:30 pm. Please call in advance for an appointment. There is a charge.
- Therapeutic massages are also available.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:
- English as a second language (ESL) for
foreign born adults, from beginners to advanced students
who wish to learn or improve their English. The program
is offered through the E.B. Adult & Community Education
Program. Students must be members of the center.
- Income Tax assistance begins in February. Trained volunteers prepare simple tax returns
for seniors. Call office for appointment.
- Assistance with Medicare issues.
SOCIAL SERVICE & COUNSELING:
Old age doesn't come by itself. Along with the joys of grandchildren,
great grandchildren, and the satisfaction of a life well lived
can come the aches and pains of normal aging, the sorrow of
a loved one departed or the realization that some dreams will
never come true. When losses come your way in a short period
of time it can be overwhelming. Don't go it alone. The East
Brunswick Department on Aging is staffed with knowledgeable
professionals eager to help you through the normal predicaments
of aging as well as the more complicated issues. The Department
provides an accessible system of services to seniors to help
maintain their independence at home.
- Advocacy: The Department serves
as a advocate and referral service for senior citizens to the vast array of entitlement programs, PAAD,
Home Energy Assistance, Homestead Rebate, Social Security,
Medicare, Senior Housing, Home Health Care etc.
- Support Groups: Groups specifically
for bereavement, caregivers, living alone, and other specialty
groups. Please call for information.
- SHIP: Counselors
(State Health Insurance Programs) are available to assist
seniors in evaluating and comparing supplements to Medicare
insurance policies.
- East Brunswick Home Delivered Meals:
Is a joint program with the Middlesex County Dept. on Aging. A hot meal is provided on a daily basis to homebound seniors
60 yrs. and over. A small donation is suggested for this
program. For further information please call 732-390-6896.
